What is HelseID?

HelseID is a common login solution and a key component for digitizing the healthcare sector in Norway. The service helps to ensure that health information can be shared safely and easily. You can use HelseID to

  • Log in a user in an application
  • Get access to an API that is secured with HelseID:
    • APIs that do not require user login
    • APIs that require a logged in user
  • Secure access to an API that you own

Get started with HelseID

To get started with HelseID you can start in HelseID's self service portal. You can log in to HelseID Selvbetjening Test (self-service portal) to get started. Before you can use HelseID in production, your company must have been approved as a third-party supplier for NHN, and it must have signed the terms of use for HelseID.

Protocols, security profile, and network
