Dialog API

The API for Melde bidirectional dialog may be used by both healthcare personnel (reporting side) and case managers at the report area.

The most common use case is like this:

• A case manager creates a dialog and sends a message to the reporter in order to request more information or ask a question.
• Then the reporter replies to the message, either from melde.no or directly from the reporting system, if integrated with Melde.

Currently only case managers are allowed to create new dialogs.

Endpoints

The API consists of the following endpoints for managing Melde dialogs.

• Get dialog info
• Create dialog
• Get unread dialogs
• Dialog events
• Send message
• Fetch new messages
• Mark as read

Authentication

Clients must be authenticated by HelseId in order to call the API. DPoP must be used. For dotnet clients the Nuget package, HelseId library, is recommended. Take a look here

Authorization

In order to call dialog API endpoints, the following criteria must be met:

• The client must be authenticated by HelseId
• The client id must be registered in the Melde system and associated with the correct report area
• The client must have a valid dialog API scope, allowing access to the API
